What is fundraising?

It is a process of raising funds by means of asking companies, individuals, charitable foundations or governmental institutions for support. Fundraising is carried out by professional fundraisers. They deal with it every day and know how to be effective and persuasive.

It is very difficult to translate the term "fundraiser" into Polish. Sometimes, the term "specialist in gathering funds" is also used. It is a very adequate expression as such a person actually and most of all gathers funds for various organisations and needs to be a specialist.

A fundraiser is not only supposed to gather funds for good causes but also to promote the idea of philanthropy and strengthen the relations between a sponsor and foundation.
